I have the Clock Three JR. that I bought a few years ago. I enjoy it very much. Is there a GPS clock that I can buy and hook it up to? I live in a time zone change depending on season and I would like to have it change automatically.

Thank you,
-Darin

Darin, the C3Jr should automatically change time according to US DST rules. If it doesn't, then upload the arduino code with the DST enabled.

Hi Nick,

Could the issue be that I need to set the time zone on the clock?

Is this the software you are talking about? https://github.com/JChristensen/Timezone

Do I need to do any custom coding to make it work or can I just upload it?

Thank you,
-Darin

Darin, there is no time zone setting on the C3Jr as far as I know. The DST rules have to be enabled before compiling the Arduino code and uploading it. Search GitHub for WyoLum.

Thanks, I got everything working except I can't upload the firmware. It complains that it can not use COM1, but yet at the bottom of the IDE it clearly shows 'ATmega328P on COM1'. Serial ports config show nothing to choose from.

I am using Windows 7 and I installed the drivers for the usb from the Audrino folder, but it didn't like the driver to much. It shows unknown device afterwards.

What kind of programmer are you using? USBTiny? Or are you using an Arduino board?

I am using the Arduino IDE. I have the Clock Three JR attached to my laptop with the FTDI cable to USB cord. Is this the correct set up?

Thank you,
-Darin

The latest version 1.8.4...just downloaded it and installed it this evening. I did the Windows installer version.

Thanks,

This "ATmega328P on COM1" is only the port it tries to connect to. You should go into "Tools" and then into "Port" and try a different port.
Usually COM1 is a default port, I don't really know if any program is using it. But I always see it as avaible and it never is the port Arduino is using.
