Since seeing some fine clocks made some years back, I couldn't resist sharing this Numitron clock I made in the 80s.  I used a MM5314 clock chip.  
For those in the know, you'll see "6" and "9" do not have the tail.  This was also known as Military digits made to view from afar without confusion. I even used ceramic sockets!

How many years was it running before a segment burned-out ? Or maybe you've yet to see one fail ?

Believe it or not, those are all original.  There's an actual pot in the rear.  I keep it about 80% of 5 VDC
