Marketplace built with Neo4j

Hi,

I'm currently building a system based around a Neo4j database - it's absolutely perfect for what I'm doing.

I'd like to introduce a marketplace (e.g. http://sharetribe.com/ or http://structureddomains.com/) to the site, something that enables people to sell their products/services whilst the site takes a commission. I have come across a lot of different options but what I'd really like is to integrate it with my existing Neo4j database rather than duplicate all my data over to whatever database the marketplace system is using (typically a relational database like MySQL).

By "integrate" I don't mean I'd like a nice easy way of loading my user data into the marketplace database, I mean I'd like the user data I already have in the Neo4j database for the marketplace.

Does anyone know of any off the shelf marketplaces that are Neo4j compatible or that could be made so without masses and masses of customisation.

I think structr (http://structr.org) can be something you're looking for.

It's a graph application platform on top of Neo4j with a rich JS-UI for designing sites and pages and lots of functionality (incl. payment) out of the box.

Axel cc'ed might be able to point you to the right resources for a marketplace site.

Can anyone help me with graphgists?

I tried to install graphgists on my system but it seems to work only with Neo4j V-2.3 as opposed to version 3.0.1 which I am curently using for testing purposes.

Hi Michael,

I cloned the repo you directed me to but it was giving me the same error. after a while it started cloning the repo once again [I had executed the install-graphgist.sh script once only] and somehow the graphgist started on "https://localhost:8000".  Now i cannot get it to start again.

any suggestions on this matter?

It's a bit complex, the neo4j console can wrap or mirror an existing database if you start it with a command-line parameter that points to the URL of the other db.

As most real databases exceed the pedagogical size (of about 200 nodes) though this is suboptimal (as the GG will transfer / render display the full db as its result)

But you can also take a graph-gist and turn it into an in-browser guide which you can run with: `:play http://host:port/guide.html`
