New to NH

I'll be "new" to NH this fall. I grew up in Amherst, NH but wasn't doing long rides or exploring far from home back then. I was previously in Ithaca, NY for a while, and made it out to D2R2 a few years back.

I was looking up events and see that D2R2 and Kearsarge Klassic are a week apart. Has anyone done both and have some comparative remarks about them? Kearsarge is closer, cheaper, and new, so if time is tight I will probably just do that one. I see there's also a 200 rider limit but no mention of how full it currently is - do I need to sign up asap?

Are there any other events than those two and NER brevets I should know about (August or later)? I'll be near Portsmouth and willing to drive an hour or two for a good ride.
