IMC Sockets transport

Hi All

   I read somewhere ([1]) that IMC sockets can use UNIX sockets, shared memory or a named pipe as the actual transport.

   What determines which transport is chosen?

   I'm looking for a zero-copy way to pass data to a sandboxed process, running without chrome, is that something that can be achieved?
