Assam Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 11 Ministers including the Chief Minister from Assam State Assembly 2016.

 

Criminal Background

Minister with Criminal Cases:  Only 1 minister has declared criminal cases against himself. He is Naba Kumar Doley of BJP from Dhakuakhana constituency with 1 charge related to Giving false evidence, 1 charge related to fabricating false evidence and 1 charge related to false evidence in his affidavit.

·         Crorepati Ministers: Out of the 11 Ministers, 9 (82%) are crorepatis.

·         Average Assets: The average assets of 11 Ministers are Rs 2.67 crores.
