I have a yearly recurring task on December 31. I just completed that
task, and the task recurred to December 31, 2011 as it should have.
But the task shows up as "Saturday" in the Due Date column in my
Outline view. I would expect that the due date would show up as
12/31/2011, rather than "Saturday".

If I go to Tools/Options/General Application Options/Themes and
Formatting/Formatting/Date and Time Format, I have nothing selected
under the Advanced tab. Under the General tab, I have the "Use Week
Days for the Current Week" checkbox checked. If I uncheck this box,
then my task shows up as 12/31/2011. If I re-check that box, then the
task shows up as "Saturday".

I am thinking that somehow the year-end date of the task is throwing
things off as MLO is mis-interpreting 12/31/2011 as the current week.
So I think that this is most likely a bug.

To get around this for the short term, I will leave the "Use Week Days
for the current week" checkbox unchecked.

You're right Ron. In fact, if you put tasks in with due dates 25/12/11 to 31/12/11 they exhibit the same bug. It's only dates either side that are ok.

Hi Andrey,

Have you registered this bug reported by Ron? I think it's quite a significant one.
