Searching for hashtags

Hi all,

I have an email indexed in mu4e, with this in the body:

#random-tag

@random-tag

$random-tag

I can find that email if I search for random, but not if I search for random-tag or #random @random or $random. I gather [-#@$] are special characters in searching? Is there a way to search for strings that contain or start with them? Usually they can be escaped with some extra syntax.
