When I try to reply to a message within mu4e, I always get this error in a dialog area at the bottom of the screen ...

error in process filter: Symbol's function definition is void: gnus-make-local-hook

I'm using emacs 24.5.2, and gnus is installed.

Does anyone know why I'm getting this error and how to fix it?

Thank you very much.

mu4e doesn't use this function, so something else must have - and this
something is somehow expecting gnus to have been loaded (which would
define the function).

Try to get an emacs backtrace from this error, and/or grep your settings
/ 3rd party packages for this function to see who's the culprit. As a
q&d fix, you could of course load gnus before mu4e...

Cheers,
Dirk.

Thank you. I finally figured out that this was due to some unwanted paths in my `load-path'.

Everything now works fine.
