Sitemap Cron Hangs

After installing the module in Magento 1.5.1, my create sitemap cron job hangs and will not complete. I've made the changes to the template as described in:

msemanticbasic/sitemap::createSitemap
| create_sitemap | * * * * * |
Any suggestions?
