Hey everyone!

The best party of the year has almost arrived: Maker Party starts in just
one week! In past years we did amazing things, like save the kittens with
HTML and remix Pharrell William's best dance moves.

This year, Maker Party will focus on three skills: How to Read, Write and
Participate on the Web. Our first activity, below, helps users read the
Web. Get an early start on Maker Party by checking out this activity today.
Over the next couple weeks we will release other activities focused on
writing and participating on the web, so lookout for those.

Learn how the Web works, and start protecting your privacy

IP addresses are a fundamental part of exploring the Web. They are unique
numbers assigned to every device that uses the Internet, from laptops to
smartphones. Through the IP Address Tracer activity, you’ll learn how IP
addresses work, and why they’re considered personal information. By the end
of your Maker Party, you’ll have a better sense of how to protect your IP
address — and privacy — online.

Here's a link for the activity: http://bit.ly/1HQZr2e along with a lo-fi
alternative activity: http://bit.ly/1eKrsNC

While you’re at it, tell the world about your party. Share this tweet:

I'm throwing a @Mozilla #MakerParty to learn about privacy on the Web. Host
a party of your own this month: http://mzl.la/makerparty

Let me know if I can help with anything! I'm excited to see what the
community does this year.
