Hello everybody :)

I'm currently in the process of inventorying and tagging beginner material
on MDN.

It looks it is somewhat outdated. One of the thing I noticed is that the
knowledge progression of some contents is disconnected or unwisely
connected to the others.

To improve that at some point, I plan to build a tree of knowledge for web
technologies. Before moving forward, I wish to know if some of you know if
there is already such a tree of knowledge somewhere ? I don't really like
to reinvent the wheel :P

Thank you for any help you could provide :)
Best,

Hi Jeremie,

Great that you're interested in this! :-)

Thanks to Fred for sharing the slides; the latest version is at http://bit.ly/weblitmap. Please do join us for the #TeachTheWeb community calls every Thursday when we discuss this in detail: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Webmaker/TeachTheWeb/Calls

We're planning to allow users to tag each competency of the Web Literacy Map with a bookmarklet, as well as tagging the resources, teaching kits, etc. that we make. Also, I've been doing some thinking around metrics and taxonomies that you might find interesting: http://literaci.es/metrics-learning-taxonomies-and-web-literacy

All in all, I feel like a close MDN/Webmaker partnership would be a huge win. Want to contact me directly so I can loop you into some of the conversations we're having? doug <at> mozillafoundation <dot> org.
