FF 9.0.1 Win XP SP3

Until recently, previously opened tabs including a pinned tab would
remain after a computer reboot. However, they no longer reappear after I
reboot the computer. I don't recall if this started happening after
installing 9.0.1 or if it also happened with 9.0.

Tools > Options > General > When Firefox starts: Show my windows and
tabs from last time

If I shut FF but do not reboot the computer, previous tabs return when
FF is reloaded.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Another question, based on a question by another user, do you always
shut down Firefox before rebooting? If not, then the order in which the
windows close isn't under your control, and might trigger the problem.

No. Only one instance of FF is open.

I always shut all open programs prior to shutting down.

Since it only happens when I reboot, I suspect it might be a windows
problem of some sort.
Any thoughts?

Hmm. I just start with my home page, but any time I want to invoke the previous session's tabs, I use History > Restore Previous Session. That works flawlessly for me. Does that work for you when you have problems?

Just tried it. History > Restore previous session is greyed out!
I'll try it again after another reboot.

If "When Firefox starts" were set to "Show my windows and tabs from last
time" the line "browser.startup.page 3" would appear. Try setting "When
Firefox starts" to something else, then setting it back.

Did that..... No improvement.
Trying to isolate what might be causing the problem: I tried to recreate
the steps I use when restarting the computer each day.

The following was noted:
With several tabs open, shutting FF and restarting maintained the open tabs.
With several tabs open, rebooting the computer also maintained all open
tabs.
With several tabs open, shutting FF then RUNNING CCLEANER (as I always
do) then restarting FF LOSES ALL OPEN TABS except my homepage.

Although this has never happened in the past, it appears that Ccleaner
is the culprit.
Next I will delete and then reload Ccleaner. Hopefully that will solve
the mystery.
I will post an update (probably tomorrow morning).

Couldn't wait for morning.
Uninstalled Ccleaner using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Reinstalled latest version from Periform website.
No change in the outcome ..... When Ccleaner is run, multiple tabs are
deleted on reloading FF regardless of whether or not Computer is rebooted.
Not running Ccleaner maintains all tabs.

Sent a response last night but I don't see it listed.

Thank you Sailfish. Your suggestion did the trick.
I disabled all the checkboxes in Ccleaner for FF except the cache.
Miracle of Miracles. All works as expected now.
Although this did not SOLVE the problem, it alleviated it. (I still
don't know why this started happening).

Thank you to all who responded.
And to all a good night!
