Hello all,

I am completely new to Bugzilla admin tasks, so please help me out!

As usual, under Bugzilla we are having 'Products' and the 'Products'
are further sub-divided into 'classifications'.

Now each of these classifications have a "Default CC" list, in which
users are listed(these users always get mail when bugs are created/
modified for that classification).

*** Question:
Now can someone please tell me how do I edit this "Default CC" list?
I want to remove some users from this list, so that they don't get
mails when new bugs are created for that classification.

I am a newbie...so please tell me the COMPLETE PATH where I can edit
the "Default CC" list for each classification.

Thanks in advance,
dpaul

Products contains components and not classifications
When you edit the component you can choose which users (if at all) will
be the default CC list

Administration--> Products --> choose product --> press the "edit
components" --> choose component --> set the default CC list

Hope this helps

best regards ,

You surely mean components, not classifications.

Hello Gil,

Yes, thanks a lot! I found the "Default CC" list under...
Edit component 'ABC' of product 'XYZ'

But I don't see any option to remove an user from this 'box'(is the Bugzilla configured in my case in this way?)

Thanks,
dpaul

You can choose multiple users by press the CTRL + mouse left button.
Users that are already marked , can be removed by press the CTRL on them
+ mouse left click

Hi Idelson

could you please help me out really messed up in bugzilla 3.4.8 (Windows)

Q1. the bugzilla manual says when the product is assigned to a group its visible only to that group. The other user cannot find it in search engine.

Q2. when I create a bug report all user id's ever made in bugzilla are displayed in the CC list of the "Default CC list" irrespective of product
access permissions.

Q3. I recently installed bugzilla on my Windows 7 PC so even a normal user with no rights whatsoever, also have the complete rights like an admin.

please help me out as this is just killing me

Thanks
Rajat

Hi all,
is possible edit CC list if , for example, "product" AND "reporter" fields MATCH certain criteria?

Yes, but it's not supported out of the box and how you need to
implement it depends heavily on what exactly your are trying to
achieve, how secure the solution has to be and such. Therefore you
should describe your problem a lot more detailled and I would suggest
starting a new thread for it.

Anyone who has "editcomponents" rights can set default CC email
addresses *per component*.

If you ask for always CCing an email address whenever you create a bug
report, regardless of the product/component, then I don't think there
is a setting for that.
enter_bug.cgi offers a CC field that you can fill out manually.

I am not aware of any server-side setting.
Some browsers offer pre-filling some fields but that's client-side.

You need to put user2 in the "Default CC List" box for every
component of every product in your Bugzilla instance.

This doesn't work. I can press Ctrl + left mouse button and that will
select a email address. However when I CTRL + mouse left click it just
unselects that email address. Or is there some difference between "left
mouse button" and "left mouse click"?

Okay found my own solution. The list is simply the POSSIBLE addresses while the highlighted ones are the ACTUAL selected addresses. By default the actual list is empty and you must selected addresses to populate the list.
