error when closing pipe to /usr/lib/sendmail bugzilla error

We have a error on bugzilla when trying to update a bug, the error is

error when closing pipe to /usr/lib/sendmail :Broken pipe.

please tell what you tried to find out what's wrong, and what your
results were. It's easier to help then.

I found this problem in my installation.
I changed the sendmail to Relay to a Smart Host instead of DNS based.
forwarding. That fixed the issue.
Also check your maillog and if you are getting bounce messages.please
rectify that in sendmail itself.
