There's been a few discussions around the module system at Mozilla
lately, including the one about the proposed Emeritus Module Owners
module. In some of those conversations questions have been raised
about how up to date our current list of module owners and peers is as
well as how to contact the owners and peers. Given that we do not, as
far as I'm aware, have a mailing list that reaches all current module
owners and peers, I wrote a script to scrape the wiki
(https://wiki.mozilla.org/Modules/All) and created a list of unique
email addresses in that page.

I've attached the list of addresses as well as the trivial script I
used. I'm hoping this could be used as a starting point for contacting
current module owners and also for both figuring out which ones are
still active as well as reachable through the email address we have.

Hope this helps.

Interestingly, it seems that "Javascript Debugging backend" is still in
that page. It should have been removed when the code was removed (
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=800200 ).

Likewise there probably isn't much point in keeping Venkman either, as
it only ever supported that API and is now resting in peace (well, more
or less).

This could be really useful, thank you!

I'm glad my questions about the up-to-dateness of the module list has helped trigger a set of really helpful conversations, and I'm looking forward to the progress we make. Admittedly somewhat from a position of self-interest, since a solid module owners list helps our writing community gather information better.

I hope this was easy to do; the page uses templates in a way designed to
make this sort of processing simple! :-)

Not sure you actually attached the script; but it might have been
stripped off my the mailing list software.

Previous attempts to update and refresh this list have (perhaps in a
case of "the best being the enemy of the good") stalled on the point
that perhaps the module owner system is not the best thing for Mozilla's
organization at this stage, and what should we replace it with - which
is a conversation which really needs bandwidth from Mitchell that she
doesn't have at the moment.

But yes, perhaps we should try and separate the two things, and see if
we can get a better record of who is in charge of what within the
current paradigm.

Sheesh. :P

This is missing an @host in the wiki.
