module owner for mozilla-toplevel

we're drawing up a plan which impacts the top-level code of mozilla-central. this needs to be discussed-with/approved-by the mozilla-toplevel owner.

according to the module owner wiki page[1] this is currently owned by brendan eich. clearly this needs to be updated as he resigned from all his mozilla.org project roles at the start of 2016.


this exact issue was discussed on 2016-01-25 on this newsgroup[2] however the discussion petered out and no action was taken to appoint a new owner.


what needs to happen to appoint an owner for mozilla-toplevel?

The appropriate process would have been for Brendan to propose a successor
here like all other modules my guess since he is now gone that Mitchell
would be the next appropriate person to propose a replacement here.

Yes; if you need a new mozilla-toplevel owner, Mitchell is the person to
approach.
