I tried to post a comment. The result was "Document contains no data".

I was able to post a comment (waiting moderation). I used Fx 4.

Having saved my comments, I just now tried to post them again. I still
get "Document contains no data". My prior attempts do not appear in the
blog.

Is logging-in to an account required to reply?

No problem with my comment and didn't have to log in. Did you accept

I normally run with cookies accepted only for the selected domain. I
changed that to accept all cookies. I disabled AdBlock Plus and spoofed
Firefox. (I am using SeaMonkey.) JavaScript was already enabled. I
enabled popups. I cleared my cache.

I still get "Document contains no data".

Easily over 250 characters then, unless you were all, "I, uh, uh, um..."

My input contained 124 words and 845 characters including spaces.

Another input that actually appears in the blog contains 176 words and
1,018 characters including spaces.

Desiree, who replied earlier in this thread, has an input actually
appearing in the blog with 291 words (twice my count) and 1,617
characters including spaces (almost twice my count).

It is not. Or shouldn't be. Posts from 'new' users (emails that haven't
commented on the blog before) get a moderation step to minimize spam,
but no registration is required, per se.

I just logged out and tried posting a comment and got "Your comment is
awaiting moderation." after submission, for what it's worth.

In any event, your feedback would be greatly appreciated, whether the
blog plays nicely or not. It isn't ideal, but replies here on the forum
work just as well. :)

Since I am still unable to post to the blog, here is my input:

For threaded discussions, I most definitely prefer NNTP. Web-based
forums are just too cumbersome, not just Google Groups but also the
forums hosted by various other software organizations (e.g., AVG,
Adobe). And I feel that discussions conducted via E-mail distributions
(e.g., listserv, Mailman) interfere with and even overwhelm "normal"
E-mail.

For the above reasons, I am disappointed by the pending reduction in
support of Thunderbird from the Mozilla organization. I have been using
Netscape 4, Mozilla Suite, and now Thunderbird as my newsreader.
However, my interest in NNTP goes much further than news.mozilla.org; I
am currently a member of the Big8 Management Board (see
<http://www.big-8.org/>).

Thus, I feel that Mozilla should continue to provide a robust NNTP
application and that NNTP should be the primary means of communication.

Anything I post in this newsgroup is my personal
opinion and does not reflect the official position
of the Big8-Usenet Board.

I certainly agree that online forums really don't do the job for me.
They are usually slower, less user friendly, and much less flexible.
Threading is often unavailable, such as the Apple Support forums. It
becomes an exercise in frustration to get information from them.
