I just realized we already have some numbers on their usage. See

Therefore I'm cross-posting now.

John, regarding the stats it looks like you didn't try to place them within
the contributors bar or besides the page action buttons yet. (See my
previous mail.) I believe it's worth to investigate that.
Generally speaking, the conversion rate of 0.20% indicates that the feature
is not used often enough to give them a prominent place.
