Re: MDN mailing lists

I have been informed that we may need to create new lists, rather than renaming existing ones.

We can cross that bridge in a bit. For now, do we agree that the new names in my last email are more preferable?

What are the direct benefits?
How does it break archives and threads? (example [1])
If done, how do we ensure there will be continuity in between archiving systems?
How does it break filters that people have created?

All great questions. We are going to look into implementation next, including analysis of drawbacks. You are right that this may end up being more trouble than it's worth.

For now I was just hoping to get a general sense of whether the new names are preferable. I will follow up with additional information on if/how these changes could be made, and we can decide from there.
