Hi,

I'm going to do some back-end changes to the l10n dashboard tomorrow.

I'll switch off automation for a while, and if things don't go as
planned, I might need to restore the db from a backup.

This is fixing a lot of technical debt, so afterwards, you shouldn't
notice any change, if things go well. As all I'm trying to do is to do
the same thing with less bugs.

I'll update here when the deployment is done. I'll update #l10n on the
actual downtime, too.

Hi,

the update uncovered a few more bugs that didn't show up in local staging.

Nevertheless, we're better off now than on the previous state of the
code base, so I didn't roll back.

Open items:

Thunderbird and SeaMonkey are busted still.
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1341886 tracks that.

There are a couple of cronjobs that I don't run yet. The sparkline
images on the dashboard are likely the only visible fall-out from that.

Given this deployment touched 5 VMs, that's pretty OK.

There were a few more fall-outs over the weekend, but things should be
OK now, for TB and SM, too.

I blogged about the changes that went in to this at
https://blog.mozilla.org/axel/2017/03/03/on-updating-the-automation-behind-l10n-m-o/,
if you're interested in the technical details.
