Hi,

I just received a message from Mozilla Add-ons saying that the language
pack for Esperanto had been approved.

The language pack has been automatically built and accepted since:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485617

Does anybody know if there were changes relating the language packages?

Eduardo.

I'm not aware of any changes, but I also notice that you're listed as
one of the authors of the Esperanto language pack
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/esperanto-language-pack/

While that's not normally the case (usually it's only Mozilla)
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/fran%C3%A7ais-language-pack/
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/italiano-it-language-pack/

Are you aware of any specific reason for you being listed as author?

See this comment:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485617#c35

I never checked if they had done it. It seems they didn't take ownership
after all. And since it worked all this time, I thought it was ok.

Any ideas on how to report that, or get it fixed? Having to be approved
means that there is delay between the new version and the availability
of the language pack ...

Eduardo.

I would open an issue in
https://github.com/mozilla/addons-server

If nothing else, they would know if there's a better place for such questions.

A delay between release and language pack availability has always been
there, as far as I know.

Hi,

I wanted to say that i will be driving some conversations about language
pack process with automation around releases over the next few months.

The overall goal I'll be approaching is getting the language packs signed,
early. And with a general eye toward improving the whole process.

My investment is from a release engineering role, but will span a few teams
as we determine specific scope of the work and a plan of action.

Once things are ready to change in process here I'll inform this list.
