Hi everyone,

Building on Jeff's last email, here is a quick update on the new
user-visible parts of Firefox for iOS that you can look at:

Clear Private Data:

I'm not sure if this is string has changed, but Clear Private Data in the
Privacy section of the Settings now opens a sub-menu with more options:

Private Browsing:

In the tabs tray there is a little 'mask' button that lets you enable

There is no button text but it does have accessibility states and a
description.

When you do not have any private tabs open, you will see the empty state,
which has a short description of the feature.

These features can be seen in action in today's build at
https://people.mozilla.org/iosbuilds/l10n.html (requires LDAP access) and
will land in the TestFlight build later today.

The last testflight build still has an issue with the Private browsing
screen. The L10n Aurora build doesn't have that issue.

Yes, sorry I forgot to mention this.

There was an issue where the Private Browsing strings were not correctly
included in the Aurora L10N build, right when I send that Feature Update
email. I did a new build an hour later so it should be all good in the
Aurora L10N builds now.

However, we only do the TestFlight builds once a week, so the Private
Browsing strings will not be included there until Thursday.

If this is causing you inconvenience and you cnnot use the Aurora L10N
builds then let me know and we can do another TestFlight build sooner. But
ideally I would like to stick to weekly builds since it puts less stress on
the team.
