Hello Mozilla localizers.

td;dr: There is a brand new extension called Pontoon Tools, that will
bring *notifications from Pontoon* directly to your Firefox. You can
*install it from AMO
<https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/pontoon-tools/>*. I am eager
to hear *your feedback* and thoughts for new features!

So the long story now... I used to check Pontoon few times a day, if the
bell is gray, or demanding my attention with pink color. So in the past
week I have spared a few hours a day and built the extension mentioned
above to bring me the notifications directly into Nightly. After you
install Pontoon Tools, you will see a new button on the toolbar, that
will have a small badge in the corner. If the badge is gray, there are
no notifications for you. If it's pink, just click it and you will see,
what's new. At the time of writing this, a new update is in the review
process, and will add few more links to the toolbar button context menu.
You will get the update in a day or so from now.

Please do not forget to also check the options/preferences page
(accessible from Add-ons manager). It allows to set the update interval
(default 15 minutes, minimum 5 minutes). There is also an input to
specify your l10n team, which is used for opening links to team pages.
It defaults to your Firefox locale, but you may want to set a different
one (e.g. because you have Firefox in a different language or language
settings, than you translate to). You can find the correct one in green
at the top of your team page on Pontoon (for example for Czech it is
"cs" on https://pontoon.mozilla.org/cs/).

Spoiler: As the extension name suggests, there will be more features
coming. I already have some ideas, but feel free to reach out to me with
your feedback and own ideas for new features and options, that may help
you with your workflow.

P.S. Many thanks to Jakub Rychlý for testing all the early version, and
also to Matjaž for review and for information about Pontoon setup and
the coming API.

Hi Fabio.

Thank you for the link. I think I can include something similar to
Pontoon Tools context menu at least (#19
<https://github.com/MikkCZ/pontoon-tools/issues/19>).

Hi Stoyan.

I think these features should be pretty easy to implement server side
and Matjaž will be happy, if you port them to Pontoon backend one by
one. Especially the last one - the name of the project in the title, I
like very much. Can you also include the locale name and a filename, if
any selected?

Hi all.

I have released 1.1 update today. What's new? There are new links in the
toolbar button menu. As I realize myself, it's all quite hidden there,
they will probably find a way to the main popup in the future version.
More interesting is a context menu for selected text on Mozilla
websites. It allows to report bugs in a similar way like Transvision. I
hope you will find it useful for proofreading, or when you accidentally
see a typo and do not have time to correct it immediately.

There is also a search option on Mozilla.org (to search in the
Mozilla.org project), and on SUMO (to search in Firefox project). Please
consider the search as experimental now and more for testing, if you
will have a usecase for it at all. I want to make it much cleverer once
Pontoon API is in place and I get familiar with it.

Michal,

I see that your extension is getting new features almost on a daily
basis and that the number of users is growing. Nice job!

Regarding the title attribute of the translate view - I just made a
first step and filed a bug :-)
