The l10n-drivers used to run an open weekly call for the community to join
our planning and status update conversations. Over time, we realized that
this format wasn't working, so we canceled the call. We've observed that
there is a real need for l10n-drivers and the l10n community to connect
more regularly than in workshops and hackathons. With that in mind, I'm
announcing that we're starting a bi-monthly localization call, starting in
April.
The purpose of these calls is primarily to provide a place for information
exchange between l10n-drivers and the community. Each meeting will have a
wiki (starting with 13 April)
<https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Meetings/Community/2017-04-13>, to which
anyone attending the meeting can add agenda items and talking points. The
l10n-drivers will rotate leading the call each month.
There are exciting things happening at Mozilla this year and I'm looking
forward to seeing how this call can improve our global collaboration.

Hi Jeff.
This sounds great. Are the calls going to be recorded and available on
AirMo? It not likely I will be able to attend the 14:00 UTC, at least not
actively. So I would like to watch them later.

Definitely,
I think they will keep the drivers focused and talking. They will also lay
a good ground for future workshops.
I hope they will cover both technical and non-technical aspects of l10n.
Looking forward to the calls.
