Hi.

Seems Pontoon did not catch up yet after the merge. Is it because some
conflicts caused by new commits appearing during the sync (and just need to
wait), or is something broken? Yesterday I noticed SeaMonkey got updated
and today also Fennec appeared. Usually Thunderbird has been first, I think.

Not urgent for me, I am saving work for the weekend (hackathooon). :)

Cheers,

Hey Michal,

Firefox sync has been temporarily disabled due to bug 1259859:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1259859

The patch in this bug replaces straight quotes with curly quotes in
around 100 strings, which would show as untranslated in Pontoon on
first sync, where in fact translations can remain the same. So I want
to do some manual tweaks to save you from re-translating a hundred
strings.

I was traveling in the last two days and couldn't take care of this
earlier. Firefox (and Thunderbird) sync should be up and running again
by the end of the day today.

Thanks,
Matjaž

Firefox is now synced.

Thunderbird is done for a few locales, others will follow soon.

Thank you Matjaž.

I see a huge commit now in the repo. Do the old (removed) translation stay
in the database to appear in Machinery, so we can see them there in case
same string is waiting for translations (typically entity name changed
only)?

Yes, this is the first release after sync started removing newly
obsolete strings and files from locale repositories.

And yes, old translations are still available in translation memory,
accessible in the Machinery tab (we really need a better name for
automated suggestions from machine translation and various translation
memory sources).

Thank you for clarification. I didn't know about the new feature. :)
