Register nsILoginManagerStorage implementation without chrome.manifest

Hi all,

I am working on a plugin that uses Gnome's libsecret to store passwords. I managed to implement nsILoginManagerStorage like described here. But I could not find any information about how I can register the new implementation and use it instead of the standard implementation. Is this possible with Jetpack, or do I have to create a plain old extension for this?
