I met with the Bugzilla team at Mozilla today to discuss the integration issues with Bugzilla.  Please see the meeting notes here: https://etherpad.mozilla.org/nFytGATPyJ

I don't think there is anything surprising there, but please let me know if you have any questions, or if we did not cover something.

Cheers,

There’s a mention of session tokens in context of Bugzilla API calls.
How exactly will this authentication work?

See https://github.com/mozilla/rbbz/blob/master/rbbz/auth.py.  If I'm reading the code correctly, this implements a new authentication backend based on Bugzilla for reviewboard, which basically allows you to log in to review board using your Bugzilla credentials.

Does that make sense?  If not, please let me know!

Ah, that’s perfectly clear, thanks!

I'm not a huge fan on killing ReviewBoard emails and relying on
Bugzilla's for review comments. I find ReviewBoard's HTML emails with
links back into trouble areas much more pleasant than Bugzilla's plain
text emails.

Obviously people will have different opinions. Can we make it possible
for people to choose their preferred method of notification? I suppose
this could be as simple as allowing people to opt into RB emails and
have the BZ emails annotated with a header saying they came from RB so
people can program their mail clients to ignore them.

Well, I _think_ it should be easy for a user in RB to turn on email notifications (but haven't checked if that is a per-user setting.)

On the bugzilla side, what you're asking for may or may not be easy.  You need to ask the Bugzilla team, I'm not sure how much work that is going to be.  But that should have a lower priority as it's not something that we want to support initially.

Cheers,
Ehsan
