I have thoroughly enjoyed my MP and look forward to a mini.  I use my MP every day to login to multiple systems at work, I have also used it on my phone with no real issues.  Today I pulled my card out of the MP with no issue or hanging of any kind, however when I went to place it into my wallet it got stuck, so I pulled it back out and looked at it and the chip was delaminated from the card.

I only bring this up as a quality control issue for future production and as information for other MP users.  I have several more cards and have already created a backup and am using that at this time.

I have intentionally blocked this card and am offering to send it to you if you would like to see the issues and maybe address them with your manufacturer.

Please send me an address if you would like the card, or at least let me know that you don't so I wont be wondering.

Here is a pretty bad picture, but I was trying to hold the card and take the pic with the other hand.

Happy MP user,
Chris Hood

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Do you have a rough back-of-the-envelope calculation of how many times the card has been inserted/removed? (e.g. ~x times a day * y days). That would give us a rough idea of how it stacks up against any insertion cycle info.

I'm sure Mathieu will follow up in detail, but if you could provide this bit of info it would be quite informative. I don't think it's worth postage for sending us the card for inspection and I suspect a drop of superglue would fix it again, but best to hold off on that until Mathieu confirms :)

Bjorn.

Hello Chris,

I'm very sorry for your experience.
It's actually the first time I hear of this kind of issue... for information I've been using the same card every day for the last 2 and a half years.

I'll therefore bring up this issue with our manufacturer. Bjorn is indeed right... a little superglue will fix this problem.
Thanks again for the report!
Mathieu

Well I would say that I have inserted and removed that card at least twice a day since I received my MP.  I can't find the dates but I got mine by funding the indiegogo campaign, so whenever those shipped.
I have already bricked that card, so no need to fix it. I don't know that I would anyway, I would be afraid that it would break off at some future date inside my MP.

Just wanted to let you guys know.

Just a thought …

Chris,  you said you carry the MP card in your wallet. I carry my wallet in my back pocket, and I notice that over time my credit cards develop a slight bend. Could flexing be contributing to the problem? I do not carry my MP card in my wallet.

Yes I'm sure that could be the problem, however it doesn't happen with my bank issued chip-and-pin card. The point I was trying to share with the group was that these cards may be of a lesser quality and therefore prone to more issues.
