mongo dump and restore from Mmap to wired tiger

Hi ,

We are in the process of upgrading from 3.0 mmap to 3.2 wired tiger. It is taking longer time to sync the new db path from primary,hence we have decided to pursue with mongodump and restore. Can you please advice is it possible to take mongodump with mmap and restore with wired tiger storage engine .

Hi Arun,

Yes it is possible to perform a mongodump from MMAPv1 and then perform a mongorestore of that data into WiredTiger. The steps are detailed in the Change Standalone to WiredTiger and the Change Replica Set to Wired Tiger manual to walk you through the process.
