The needed hotfix 2731284 for W7 machines has still not been included within the regular windows updates. Does anyone have an idea how to push Microsoft to include it?

Best,

Frank

Hi Frank,

Microsoft's mainstream support for Windows 7 and Server 2008 ended in January 2015:

During Microsoft's extended support countdown to full end of life, I gather the intent is to only provide security fixes:

I suspect your options are to:
 - upgrade to MongoDB 3.0 and use WiredTiger storage engine (since this hotfix only applies to MMAP storage)
 - upgrade to a newer version of Windows that doesn't require the hotfix
 - continue to install the hotfix manually (which should be a one off assuming you aren't continuing to deploy new W7 machines)

Regards,
Stephen
