Installing mongodb on godaddy vps(new user)

I am new to mongodb, although i have used it on my local ubuntu machine but as per my project i need to install mongodb on a virtual private server provided by GoDaddy.com

Configuration of VPS

CentosOS 6 + cPanel

1GB RAM

40GB DISK

I tried to find a solution on StackOverflow but couldn't find what i needed. I am using puTTY SSH client on my windows machine but couldn't log in with root privileges, although I am having the correct user Id and password which is working fine on WHM. I want to know whether its the right approach or not. And if its the right approach what should I do next to install mongodb?

Hi Aman,

If you can't SSH into the VPS, you're going to have to contact Godaddy to ask them for support.

As for installing MongodB on a VPS, it is a similar procedure as installing it for your Ubuntu machine.

But first you need that SSH connection.

If you’re still having this issue, please open a new thread with more details regarding your situation:

• What is your MongoDB version and your OS version
• Have you tried the solution posted in the thread, i.e. SSH into your deployment and perform the procedure described in https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/tutorial/install-mongodb-on-red-hat/
• What error message do you see
