MongoDB 3.6.0-rc4 is out and is ready for testing. This is the culmination of the 3.5.x development series.

Fixed in this release candidate:
  • SERVER-28916 Make mongos automatically retry failed retryable writes
  • SERVER-31685 Sharded change streams can miss notifications
  • SERVER-31787 Certain aggregation commands with merging on mongos can leak cursors on mongod
  • SERVER-31823 Turning on the profiler inhibits initiating a replica set
  • SERVER-31844 mapReduce unsafely disposes of its PlanExecutor
  • SERVER-31858 explodeForSort() planning path can incorrectly produce a plan which obtains a sort via a multikey index scan
  • WT-3637 Fix a heap use after free from evicting of a page that just split.
  • WT-3715 Performance tuning for cache overflow mechanism
