Hi,

We were thinking about following redirects in our fetcher in order
to rewrite resources behind redirects.

However at quick look serf fetcher doesn't care about redirects. Moreover,
there is a corresponding issue in tracker which was closed without a reason.

http://code.google.com/p/modpagespeed/issues/detail?id=262

Can someone please explain the reasons why not to implement such
feature? Is it because of some possible problems with such approach?

I don't know why the issue was closed.  I vaguely remember discussing it.  We'll discuss it today.

Did you discuss the issue? We are curious to know reasons.

Thanks!
