Sync failed: "In a character range [x-y], x is greater than y..."

The complete error, or as much as I can get off my screen is:

Synchronization Failed
Error: In a character range [x-y], x is greater than y near index 223:^\s?(?:(

From this message, it's kinda hard to tell exactly what the problem is. Searches for similar error messages have come up empty. I did notice that for some reason my org-mobile is generating a checksum.dat containing a combination of md5sum and shasum results however I doubt that's the problem since I tested with a manually generated checksums.dat using both md5sum and shasum and the same error occurred.

Has anyone seen this error?
