Persistency Guarentees

Hey Couchbase Lite Team,

I have a quick question using Sync Gateway and Couchbase Lite when writes are acknowledged by the server are they guaranteed to be persisted to disk or not?

As far as I'm aware Couchbase Server uses a memory cache and to ensure writes are persisted you must poll/check it's been flushed from memory to disk successfully yourself. I'm just not experienced enough with the golang / API / sync_gateway to determine if the sync_gateway properly does this check before acknowledging writes.
