Hello Markus,

The current releases of MistServer have no native HTTPS support.
You can make HTTPS work using one of the following methods:

- Use the stunnel service to SSL'ify the HTTP port.
- Use a webserver and reverse proxy the HTTP port.

Somewhere in the next 1-2 months we also plan to release an update to the Pro edition which adds native HTTPS support to MistServer (the feature has been completed already, but hasn't gone through full testing yet).

Hope that helps!

How I install a proxy or a stunnel on my qnap I do not know.

but not the pro version. i need a stream once a week.

Hello Markus,

stunnel is a "standard" *nix utility and probably available for your device. You could run it in the same docker container, most likely.
When using a proxy, we've seen good results with both nginx and lighttpd.

The usual pricing of the pro version is geared towards businesses that make streaming one of their main activities, so that doesn't sound like a good fit for you.
We do also have a non-commercial version available of the Pro version, which costs 10 dollars per month (but cannot be used for commercial activities).
It might be best if you contact our sales team ( sa...@mistserver.org ) or give us a call (on either +1 408 677 5212 (USA) or +31 10 8080 619 (NL)).
That way we can take a look at what would work for you.

Regards,
Jaron

Unfortunately this does not work with the stunnel. I get the encryption for the webserver. But not for the stream website. The player does not load.

Hello Markus,

That is unfortunate.
In the meantime our 2.8 release is now available, and its Pro edition has native support for HTTPS. Even the free edition contains some fixes to make proxied HTTPS work better, so you might want to try updating to the latest version.
Feel free to contact our sales department at sa...@ddvtech.com if you have any questions about the Pro edition pricing for your particular use case - we have more options available than are shown on the website.

Regards,
Jaron
