Yay, another MTR!
They're planning on banning everyone under 20. They've already deleted
my account, and all 1500 posts, even though I'm the one that made the
forum the way it is. They're also going to ban anyone who goes barely
off topic or talks about "hypothetical roads" and the forum will suck.
I'm not sure if you realize this, but aaroads.com is considered to be
the hallmark of roadgeeking websites. Think of aaroads.com as
basically the top of the tree, while every website afterwards can have
its roots traced to aaroads.com in some way, shape or form.
Certainly, it was aaroads.com that made me realize that I wasn't the
only one who had an interest in road infrastructure, and I'm sure
almost everyone on this newsgroup who's been around long enough would
concur.
Doesn't mean there isn't anything incredibly flawed with their
administration on a forum.
Um, question...considering the fact that the forum is still in
maintenance mode, and no posts are being displayed to the public just
yet **how would you know?**
We're banning anyone under the age of 20? Guess I'm gonna have to ban
myself. Oh, wait, I can't do that, cause it would be silly.
Uh, one of the guys who is running the forum is under 20.
> They're also going to ban anyone who goes barely
> off topic or talks about "hypothetical roads" and the forum will suck.
Nobody has mentioned anything of the sort.
How is banning worse than saying "f-you, you're not allowed to unsubscribe" ?
Remember: you VOLUNTARILY gave your roadforum back to AA Roads.
Don't like it? Steal it back again.
Otherwise, quit acting like a spoiled child.
A number of us have stumbled onto the hobby via nycroads.com,
including myself. Some sites, such as Kurumi's site, and a number of
others, would also have their roots from around the same time frame,
over a decade ago. But certainly, AARoads has built a strong
credibility over the years as "one stop shopping" for all your roads
needs.
I don't know how the new edition of the forum will pan out, but what I
can say is let things work themselves out. Someone may be bitter, but
it's only the Internet.

You're obviously an unbiased reporter of the "truth."
You're not only a spammer... you're completely dishonest. Don't you have
something better to do than post here?

But if you have no walls, how can you have windows?
Time to make some w(h)ine? ;)
You, personally, have made quite a few enemies among the respected road
enthusiasts. Your actions have lead to you being "Blackballed" by the
community.
My advice to you: go away, and don't come back. You are persona non grata.
might as well get some cheese too :P
Well, I just lost any and all respect I had left for you
I don't leave when I'm not wanted.
I'm staying. Get used to it.
Hi viatologist!
That's a very good recipe for success...
I guess we'll just have to have you arrested for Criminal Tresspass, then.
lol

That's the beauty of usenet. I can killfile and you and you're gone
as far as I'm concerned.
Plonked for repeatedly posting off-topic material to m.t.r.
Oh? You going to try to steal usenet and say you created it?
Wait, wait, wait... I got it! You're Al Gore. You invented the
internet & your daddy invented interstate highways.
Putz.
Fuckhead.
Nice, but the fit is better for a viatologist's operational definition
of "armchair quarterback."
You're just one in a long line of trolls.
You could never live up to Stephanie or Tom from Ohio. You are not
even good enough to be Tom from Ohio's asian mail order bride or
butler.
When you lose at being a troll, you lose at life.
Its probably best just to give up now man. You failed, miserably.
Hell, he's a worse troll than He Who Should Never Be Mentioned (C***
R******.) Poologski runs circles around him. And as you said, most of the
"classic" MTR trolls were far more effective. Cody is nearly as annoying as
Raciste Roadsine Randy.
> I don't leave when I'm not wanted.
We have ways of making you leave. They are called killfilters. As you are
an ignorant Google Grouper, of course you have no such tool, and probably
don't even understand what one is. You think this is a Google Group. It's
not. It's Usenet.
Goodbye.
Loser!
another great roads related post from the brain damaged one
still waiting for you first roads related post
Oh no I'm going to be shunned by no life roadgeeks!
*runs for the hills*
If we have no life and are so worthless, you wouldn't be trying so
hard to get our attention...

Add yourself to your killfile, you piece of shit. You probably know Carl
Rogers personally.
Are you stalking me, sirrah?
Don't you have some drunks in your taxi to roll for money?
jesus fucking christ, another roads related post from the brain
damaged piece of shit.
I do plenty whilst I am following you all over mtr.
You have absolutely no idea.
Instead of concerning yourself with me and making insipid comments
about me and others, why don't you see if you can make a roads
related post.
anything will do, it would be your first

Beg to differ.
I can only speak to cahighways.org, but my site has been around since the early
1990s, and goes back even earlier to posts on ca.driving back in the late 1980s.
It has always been completely independent from other websites.
As for aaroads, it showed up in the late 1990s, as a combination of the efforts
of Alex (on the east coast) and Andy. Now, I was less familiar with Alex's work,
but Andy had a parallel site to cahighways.org that focused on a specific subset
of California roads. Excellent work. Anyway, he and Alex merged their sites to
form the original aaroads content.
So, while I applaud the work of Alex and Andy as a group, we should also
acknowledge the excellent predecessor sites that went into it, their developers,
and the fact that there are a number of sites that are completely independent
efforts.

My first highway and transportation website started in 1997, and has
always been completely independent of others. That said, I certainly
recognize the efforts of all the other highway private websites that are
out there.
Scott Oglesby was the first inspiration for my websites, as before I
started mine, I was already contributing material to his 3-digit
Interstate website.
