I work part time (1099 income) for a media company and as part of my job I hire freelancers, some of whom I have known for a while, socially and professionally. If I invited them to dinner with others, 1) what can I deduct what I paid for the dinner on a prorated basis? 2) What about taking them on a day trip by plane? Then do some kayaking lessons? 3) What if I fly somewhere and as on dinner out of seven I dine with a freelancer. What can I legally do? Not looking for a gray area or fudge? Thanks in advance.
