It is possible he was "grand fathered" in. In Iowa those who were
18, or would be within a certain time, when the age was changed to 21
could legally purchase and consume alcohol. I can't KNOW if this was
the case in Maryland, but it is possible.

Because at 17 or 18, one is expected to be completely versed in
all of the laws?
Decades ago the man MAY have consumed alcohol while under age. If
he was, it's assured he knew it. But the actions of a 17 year old
aren't really applicable 37 years later. Not when the alleged offence
was a misdemeanor.

I'm shocked that you and I are in agreement about something.

I must have missed that. I recall his being open about smoking
marijuana but not doing cocaine. As I recall, he said, "...and maybe a
little blow."
This isn't an actual admission of doing cocaine. Just an
admission that he MAY have.

But, but, but, he didn't inhale.
With his having been in college during the 60's, it would have
been fairly normal to have smoked marijuana. At least on occasion. I
doubt anyone would have really cared that, decades before even running
for President, he partook of it.

I don't know of any law enforcement officer who hasn't broken at

Without doing more research than I care to do, I can't KNOW the
applicable law at the time, but it is entirely possible Kavanaugh was
acting within the law.

Studies have shown that mock violence, as seen in movies, TV and
video games, has no effect on the violent nature of the players. Those
who are inclined to act out violently will often play violent video
games, but so do people who have no desire to cause harm to others in
real life.
Here is one article about the matter. There are others.
