How to build a minix3.3 kernel for debug ?

I try to compile minix3.3 kernel in VMware for debugging with GDB in my host, but compiling stoped with failures.

My commands inＶＭ are as follows.

cd  /usr

git clone git://git.minix3.org/minix src

cd /usr/src

git checkout R3.3.0

make build DBG=-g

Is there anything wrong?

In fact, I can compile release version by "make build", but I really need a debug version with symbol tables.

Have you found a solution for this? How I be sure that i compiled under debug ?
