Cassidy won the photo contest out of 90 dogs. They called me
yesterday. The photographer said she won "hands down" by the voting
group, including the editor of the magazine.

Cassidy will appear on the cover of the Mile High Dog Magazine for the
Holiday issue. This is a popular pet magazine in Colorado and is
distributed throughout the front range, including Boulder and Ft.
Collins. The cover is four color.

We will be doing a professional photo shoot and the Editor wants to be
involved. The theme will be Christmas. They may be doing a bio on her;
as I did mention her training and background from Circle of Change. I
will not know that for sure yet. The photographer did mention that
they do get inquiries on the dogs that are on the cover. It is all
advertiser sponsored, so that is another way for us to get exposure.

It will be fun!

Without MIM and Circle of Change I would never have been able to
accomplish what I have with her in the past 4 months. We are a team in
progress always.

Maggie, of course, is backing her up (: she is the diva.

Congratulations to you and Cassidy.  We knew she was a "looker" and you have helped her become a "shaker"  I predict lots of inquiries about the "beautiful dog".  Just be honest with people- it takes a special person ( I think) to be pack leader for a Lakie.I just keep telling myself what Pat tells the dogs- "Maybe I should have considered a cat!" ( No way!) . Mattie is the best thing we have added to our lives in a LONG time.  Congratulations again to you both.  Karen Radde

Hey Thanks everyone

I am not sure yet when the magazine will be out, but you bet I will be
getting some copies and I assume that I will be able to also have
copies of the photos. And I will share, and I bet that there is a web
page too. I will find all this out.

Nancy, I am over the moon, but as the good support dog Cassie is, she
will keep me grounded. This is fun.

Congratulations Cassidy (and Janis)!

Please let the list know how copies can be ordered.

I can see paw prints on Hollywood blvd. with Cassidy's name. I'll be able to say..."I knew her when".

I know you've got lots, and lots, and lot, no make that wheel barrow loads full of notes like this to come. Please keep us up to date.

Janis,

Ask the photographer/editor for a tear sheet for Cassidy's "book".
So you can have a nice card to show off. How awesome! Congrats.

Thanks Shel, I will remember to do that.

Her photo shoot is for this Friday (the 22nd), 10:00 in the morning.
She was groomed Saturday by DD Larue, soft cut, her head and body
looks beautiful!

Of course last night, she decided to take a brief "swim" in Bear
Creek, ha!

This is the store that she will be posting at:

http://stnicks.com/AboutUs.php

This is the web page for the magazine; she will be on the front cover
for the "Holiday Issue"

http://www.milehighdog.com/

I believe that they are free, and I will be getting copies.

I wish Pat had been with us she would have been so proud!

It started out as a 5 minute session two photos in a very high end
store, it turned out to be 1 hour 46 photos. they all totally loved
Cassidy and wanted as many photos as we could do. Cassidy was
beautiful. she did her bows, sits downs in front of a gorgeous
decorated tree. She was perfect in all her waits in any position.
cameras, lights, people me moving around, she loved the attention.

The photograher wants to use her again in other commercial shoots when
she gets a call for dogs, she is going to post her on her blog page
and wants videos of her doing the suitcase and crate tricks.

Cassidy is laying at my feet and wants a nap. later she will get to go
to bear creek with Maggie and hunt mice (:

thanks again to everyone! we did talk about circle of change to people
watching and about Lakelands. the magazine will be out next month for
Nov. and Dec.

Nancy I will get digitals of all the photos

Congratulations again, Janis and Cassie!

No surprise, though—this little dog is so darn cute and perfectly mannered that I keep threatening to hide her under my coat and take her home, and so does everyone who meets her.  Even Her Ladyship thinks Cassie is the coolest and loves to hang out with her.

Obviously the photographer and folks in the dog boutique agreed.  Can’t wait to see the pix.

Janis,
I like the one where she is standing, she looks just a bit mischievous and slightly less posed.
Nice pics though.
