The junk box is full and begging to be sorted and sold for scrap metal.
I'll run a class on how to sort and prepare scrap metal to sell to a scrap yard.
Who's interested and what days would work for you?
Last time we did it on a week day so I'm leaning toward a weekend this time.
The class will take about 3 hours, 1 hour of class time and 2 hours of stripping and sorting the junk we need. As always, proceeds go to the space.

My schedule has firmed up.
Trash to Cash class will be held at 2pm Sunday at the space.
We have a bunch of junk to process at the space so the more the merrier.

Hello Tom Gr. & other Makers,
I wouldn't want to violate any protocols, but am wondering if I might be able to participate as a non-member 'guest' at today's Trash to Cash class. FWIW, I'm anticipating being in a financial position to apply for a formal membership within a couple months, but considering the pile of 'junk' I've got myself, didn't want to let this opportunity pass by without at least asking.Thanks!

Sure, come on down. If it was only open to members, I would have posted it on the members only list.
You can look at it as a way to help the space, all the proceeds from the material we scrap go to the space.

Any chance someone could setup a google hangout for this at all? I'm super interested, but being in Kansas City..well.. makes it tough to attend in person :(

Sorry we missed your hangout request Chris. You'll have to watch for next time.
We had 2.5 students in the class (one had to leave half way through.)
We did manage to process the box of scrap but didn't get to any of the stuff in the east room.
Scrap value was $152, as long as no one objects I'll put the money towards the gas piping.
There is still plenty of stuff that needs to be scrapped to make space in the east room, so I'll try to recruit some strippers at the meeting tomorrow and see if we can make some space.
