Makers! It's time to share... what have you been hacking on or making?

Reply to this email with a brief run-down of whatever projects have
been keeping you busy, either at the space or elsewhere.

I made a tiny drill press using scrap wood and some drawer slides I
grabbed from the Hack Rack:

http://rasterweb.net/raster/2016/07/11/tiny-drill-press/

It's about 95% done. I still need to add a handle and a return mechanism.

Pete, that's really interesting! I was thinking about stretching screens for screenprinting (Hal gave me some of his old frames) and how to do that. Using drawer slides like this seems like a good possibility!

I started assembling the XY mechanism for the coreXY 3D printer I am working on.  I have to decide how to implement the X axis limit switch(s) and it will be ready for testing.  I'm using 400 step per rev motors that should theoretically translate to 6.5 um resolution.  The assembly is extremely rigid, so it may be able to approach that resolution.

I took another crack at the solidoodle- still having problems with it not printing right.  Will look again tomorrow.

I was researching the next time residents of Milwaukee can park on the same side of the street for 6 days in a row and still observe the alternate side parking rule.  Turns out it is March 31 - April 5, 2022.  I think that everyone in Milwaukee should take those days off, and as an added bonus, April Fools Day is included.  Super Extra Bonus.  Start 2 weeks early and my birthday is included! 3/15 and besides being the Ides of March and only 2 days before St. Patrick's Day,  if you "Round Up" it is also  PI Day.

Correction!!  The next time you can park 6 days in a row on the same side of the street in Milwaukee and still observe the alternate side parking ordinance is May 2022 (May 27 - June 1)

There is a 4 day single sided event in March of 2017.

It might be the euphoria from finishing my painting "One Pixel On The Sun".

You need to make a 3D version and call it "voxel on the sun".
