Hey Michael and others,

I finally got around to testing out the executable WAR and your how-to from
http://blog2.vorburger.ch/2015/03/mifos-standalone-package-how-to.html

While it took me a little while to figure out some of the specifics for a
Mac, I almost reached full success but when trying to load the Community
App UI, it just constantly has the "Loading Mifos X" screen. I was able to
access platform fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ed

The Mifos X Debian repository at http://mifos.sanjosesolutions.in has been
updated with the latest 15.03 release. If you have servers pointing to it
and you installed MifosX 1.26 earlier, you can upgrade to 15.03 by running:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install mifosx

It will detect your existing databases and keystore and you'll be asked
whether you want to delete and recreate which you can say "No". First time
installation should continue to work as before. For that you first need to
add http://mifos.sanjosesolutions.in repository to your sources. Create a
file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d called mifosx.list with a line for the
repo. This command should do it:

$ echo "deb http://mifos.sanjosesolutions.in stable main" | sudo tee
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/mifosx.list > /dev/null

This will add the repo. Now you can just run the 2 commands above and
install Mifos X 15.03. Ping me if you face any issues or for clarifications.

Hello!

I'm having the same issue (same error message) with the same setting with
the only difference being is that I have specified an IP for the Mifos X
instance domain. Is this SSL related? If it is, what can I do to turn SSL
off in the client so we can connect to the Mifos server using unencrypted
HTTP?

Hey all,

hope you're doing good. : o)

The best would be to get a CA cert and use this instead of the self-signed
cert which is provided by us for testing purposes.

With the latest version of the Android App we provide a workaround for this
issue. If the SSL error occurs the app will ask you if you like to
continue. The message is a bit harsh b/c the connection is still encrypted
but allows all origins for this session.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hello Marcus,

Thank you very much for your swift reply!
Using a CA cert is of course very reasonable, however it slows down testing
a lot for us. How can I get the latest version of the app so we can try the
workaround? I got the latest one from Google Play, but I doesn't seem to
have included it yet and the continously built APK requires a subscription.
Should I try building it from source?

Cheers!

Hey Dimitar,

hope you're doing good. : o)

I'll reach to Ishan to ask for a ready-made and available new version
downloadable via the Google Play Store.

In the meantime you can simply build the app from source and sync it to
your device.

Cheers
