[Mifos-users] getting error with tomcat8

Hello people,

MySQL version : 5.6

Tomcat version : 8

JRE version : openjdk-8-jre

MifosX version: 17.07.01

OS: Ubuntu 17.10

I have placed the drizzle jar in /usr/share/tomcat8/lib with other jar files.

I have changed the file mode to 777 for /root/.mofis/tomcat.keystore

I am getting permission error with keystore and access error with drizzle JDK.

I have attached my catalina.out and server.xml

Hi Immanuel, 

Don't use very recent version of Ubuntu. It may not be compatible or stable yet. Try with 17.04 version of Ubuntu. It worked in my case.

Dear Santosh,

The deb files that I generate should work with any versions of the Ubuntu / Debian since a year back.

The repository I am hosting has MySQL 5.6 community edition from MySQL site. the Mifos Deb package depends on JRE and Tomcat from the OS itself. I can modify the post install script to check if tomcat7 / tomcat8 is installed. All my systems are not on Ubuntu 17.10. Let me create a container with Ubuntu 17.04 and test it out.

The Key error on tomcat8 I understand from my research is due to the keystore type, which I can fix. I want to understand how to fix the drizzle error. If we resolve that then tomcat8 should be ok.

Some thing else I wanted to try is install mysql 5.7 on a container and use mysql5.6 client on Mifos server to connect to mysql-server 5.7.

Any thoughts would be great.
