Hello,

A preview of 15.03 Release has been updated on the staging server at https://staging.openmf.org

This feature release ships new functionality like Collection sheets for Individual loans, Client fees and enhancements to the the loans module to include the ability to round off installments, fix EMI's for non-tranche loans, improved flexility for pre-closure, ability to specify which loan product attributes may be overridden at an individual account level and greater flexibility around editing tranche definitions during loan approval and disbursal.

Recurring deposits have been enhanced to support open-ended deposits (no maturity amount or period)

Beta API's shipped in this release add the functionality for setting opening balances for GL accounts and Entity mapping (can be used to map products and charges to Offices or Roles)

Other notable line items include security enhancements (ability to enforce stronger password policies), performance improvements around batch jobs and various enhancements to the community app.

Note that this release moves "Payments types" from Code values to thier own tables, custom reports and queries might break as a result of the same

Detailed release notes may be viewed at https://github.com/openMF/mifosx/blob/develop/CHANGELOG.md#1503release (issues which are being tested have not yet been updated here, we shall do so before the release is promoted as a stable release)

Regards,
Vishwas

Hello All,

A heads up that using the “automatic out-of the box setup” introduced in this release seems to cause issues with the reporting API’s (details at https://mifosforge.jira.com/browse/MIFOSX-1756)

The download artifacts have been updated to disable this feature.

@Dickson: A general Ledger report contributed by a specialist has been shipped in the release

Regards,
Vishwas

The Mifos X Debian repository at http://mifos.sanjosesolutions.in has been updated with the latest 15.03 release. If you have servers pointing to it and you installed MifosX 1.26 earlier, you can upgrade to 15.03 by running:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install mifosx

It will detect your existing databases and keystore and you'll be asked whether you want to delete and recreate which you can say "No". First time installation should continue to work as before. For that you first need to add http://mifos.sanjosesolutions.in repository to your sources. Create a file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d called mifosx.list with a line for the repo. This command should do it:

$ echo "deb http://mifos.sanjosesolutions.in stable main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mifosx.list > /dev/null

This will add the repo. Now you can just run the 2 commands above and install Mifos X 15.03. Ping me if you face any issues or for clarifications.
