Questions about BI Reporting | menu, generate reports, authorization

Dear Colleagues.

1. Is it possible to add menu (link) to Mifos for http://xxxxxxx:8080/pentaho/Home ?
2. Is it possible to add section "BI Reports"  under the "Reporting" tab and put some pentaho reports? 
   
• Active Loan summary per Branch
  
• Active Loans by Center
  
• etc..
   so when user will click this report link: system will call pentaho function with current session  and report id, generate report and display it in new (or even same)  pentaho screen? 
  
3. Which technology to use for SSO, authentication and authorization  Integration.
   

Those issues are not very critical but would be nice to see in 2.3.

As I understood from Pentaho web site interface can be translated, do you know any person or company who did the such things for any language? For instance in India?  How much LOE is needed for that? Also if we will integrate BI in Mifos we don need interface translation at all - as new report will be just a link in Mifos | Reporting tab. How much LOW is needed for that?  may be it will be same or less then LOE required for translation ?!  (Note: Translation of the designer probably will  not be requested). Thanks George.

What does LOW/LOE mean? :)

I'm pretty sure pentaho server interface can be 'translated'
http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/ServerDoc2x/Translating+the+Pentaho+Administration+Console+and+Pentaho+Enterprise+Console
and of course some languages are in-built but I don't know anyone who
has done it. I think ##pentaho on irc would be the best place to ask
general pentaho questions.

As for the reporting integration questions, there is ongoing
work/discussion on this and hopefully something concrete will arise
soon. Maybe you will join the upcoming discussions in this area as
they are scheduled.

Thanks for your reply regarding the Pentaho translation.
LOE = Level of efforts. (sorry for not to mention that)
And what does "soon" mean? Is it 1-2 days? :-)

Integration requirements are very simple:
1. Authentication & authorization integration
2. Infrastructure integration
3. Objects integration
(as I know app server integration was already done)

for now 1st step will be more then enough and 2nd will be just perfect.

What do you think how much time (Level of Efforts) is needed for 1 and 2 ?

Dear John, Where can we see doc about Mifos Datawarehouse  structure and concept?  We are trying to do authorisation/ authentication integration on JOSSO. Any thoughts?

It was mostly written just before it was released.

I know nothing about JOSSO but it sounds interesting. If the idea is
to be able to single sign-on to mifos and mifos pentaho for a better
reporting experience then the data warehouse details shouldn't matter
at all but Pentaho Server does as it handles sign-on for all reports
DW or not.

Lastly, I've started doing a bit of work in the reports integration
area as well (not single sign-on though) which I'll share here soon.
One bit is to be able to run pentaho reports directly from mifos
without needing the pentaho server which means a single signon
wouldn't be required.
