I just purchased a new computer with Vista 64. I transferred my files from
my old computer (which used XP Pro, 32 bit) to the new computer using PCMover.
MS Word works fine except that every time I open MS Word or open a new page
I get the following error: "Compile error in hidden module AZWizardModule". I
click "ok" and I can get to the page.
I have scouted the web and people have said it's from an Avery add-on. I
searched my computer for any reference to Avery and can't find anything. I
have Windows 7 coming soon. Will that fix the problem?
Any thoughts? I appreciate all your time and look forward to your reply.
Open the My Computer program. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View.
Click the option to show hidden folders and files. (While you're
there, if the option to hide extensions is checked, uncheck it (this
is an important safeguard against malicious executables masquearding
as innocent documents).
Now you can navigate to the folder
C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
and remove the file (probably named AZWizard.dot, but I'm not sure
since I'll never allow that miscreant on any of my PCs).

Otherwise, try using Windows Search for AZWizard.

FWIW, in Vista what used to be "My Computer" is evidently just "Computer,"
if that helps at all.

If you don't find it there, MVP Beth Melton wrote a comprehensive
article about hunting down Word add-ins. It's at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011514521033.aspx.
Despite the "Applies to" tag at the top of the article, most of it
also applies to Office 2007; and the advice about finding add-ins is
applicable regardless of whether you get the specific error message
mentioned at the beginning of the article.
