i have 4 computers, the 1 im on now is the main 1 with 2
network cards in them. 3 of the 4 have window xp, the
other 1 has windows 98, i have the internet shared , for
some reason the internet goes out on the cpus on the
network, but everytime i restart the main 1 the internet
kicks back in but in like a hour it goes out again, even
tho the internet goes out on the cpu on the network im
still able to share files with the other cpu which means
they still can receive things from the main cpu
network, they still can use the shared printers, but its
the internet that isnt working on them until i restart
the main 1 again

we need more information to help. assuming you are using ICS, when that
happens, can 1 access the internet? if not, post the result of ipconfig /all
here.

the internet stayed alive for about 7 1/2 hours today on
the networked cpu, i only had 3 cpu on counting this 1
which is the host of the network, it did the same thing,
file sharing still can be done with the network but i
cannot use the internet on the other 2 cpu which are on
the network. i use windows xp professional on all 3. the
ip is set for all the computers automatically. the 2nd
ethernet card on the host cpu always have the same ip
192.168.0.1, 255.255.255.0. on the other 2 cpu on the
network ip address rangers are between 192.168.0.0-
192.168.0.270, so they are both in the same ip range.
they both have different ip address. can it be something
to do with the main ip address on of the host cpu local
area connection?
